Waterfowl Day 2007
20-25 people from all over Southwestern Ontario joined us for Waterfowl Day 2007. In all, 38 species of birds were seen, including 13 ducks. Highlighting the morning were a multitude of Tundra Swans, plus a Great Blue Heron, Northern Shoveler, Greater Yellowlegs, a singing male Eastern Towhee and a large flight of Northern Pintail.
The complete species list is as follows: Species = 38; Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Tundra Swans, Canada Goose, Wood Duck, Mallard, Northern Pintail, American Wigeon, Northern Shoveler, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked duck, Greater Scaup, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Turkey Vulture, Red-tailed Hawk, Greater Yellowlegs, Ring-billed Gull, Mourning Dove, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, American Crow, Tree Swallow, Black-capped Chickadee, American Robin, Cedar Waxwing, Northern Cardinal, Eastern Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Slate-coloured Junco, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, Brown-headed Cowbird, American Goldfinch.
