Interpretive Center
The Interpretive centre at the Hullett office has resources to study the plants, animals and insect life at Hullett using a hands-on approach.
Habitat Displays

Activity Stations
Fourteen activity stations are available for children and youth to explore a variety of nature and science concepts. These hands-on activities encourage learning in fun ways. Outdoor games highlight species interactions such as food webs and predator-prey relationships. Board and card games help young people learn about wildlife and the water cycle. Video and books introduce children to fascinating animals and plants in the world around them. They can study deer jaws to determine the age of the animal at harvest time, participate in treasure hunts and learn about soil and rock types.
You can use a magnifying glass to examine the rock samples at the Hullett Wildlife Provincial area. Have a look at the tree rings to find out the age of the tree. Our 'height site' allows you to compare your height to that of a hummingbird to a deer. The 'mystery' boxes invites you to touch, observe and generally have fun.
Each activity station is set up around a particular topic, ie. bird biology or rocks and fossils. Clear instructions and curriculum links are provided for teachers, parents and youth leaders. Each station is supplied with all necessary materials and can be moved to a fully-equipped classroom area in the interpretive centre.
Mounts
Visitors will be able to see how the birds actually look and the size as well. The collection includes a Red Tailed Hawk, Northern Goshawk, Snowy Owl, American Bittern, Eastern Screech Owl, Northern Harrier, Great Horned Owl, Scarlet Tanager, Sharp-tailed Grouse, Cooper's Hawk, and Virginia Rail, among others. There is also a mounted bird collection donated by Miss. Eva Grace Dunlop, Goderich Ontario (around 1891).
Posters
The poster gives the visitors the knowledge of various plants, birds and animals. In particular, keeps people's interest in preserving the wildlife and forest.
Resource Center
Contains a collection field guides for naturalists and others who want to determine the species that they have seen and gather additional information about it.
The interpretive guide of Hullett can educate groups about the benefits and importance of wetlands and Hullett.
