The Friends of Hullett have hosted at least one co-op student per year since 2001. We currently have 2 co-op students working here. Some are just looking for a course credit while others are beginning a career. All have done a great job and have provided an extra set of hands. The Friends try to give them a balanced work experience at Hullett. Some days they are cleaning out wood duck boxes or releasing pheasants and the next day they are cutting back trails or spreading gravel.
While doing a co-op placement at Hullett Marsh the student will learn how to work as a team member, get hands-on research skills, and get a great opportunity to see different species and improve identifying abilities, some very rare species and some endangered even
Anyone interested in the environmental field could consider the experience they'll get at Hullett Marsh a stepping stone toward their future career.
The Co-op program is a wonderful opportunity for both the Friends of Hullett and the high school students who join us in our efforts to preserve the unique habitat of our Marsh. The Friends of Hullett look forward to this continued partnership.
