March Break Fun Day a Blast!

An intrepid group of 16 naturalists, consisting of 10 kids and 6 parents/grandparents, braved the fog and drizzly conditions to enjoy March Break Fun Day with us at the Hullett Marsh on Wednesday afternoon, March the 14th. The rain held off enough for us to hike around the Interpretive Trail where we learned about trees, maple syrup and the habitat around the Hullett P.W.A.

On the Trail

The day started off with a browse around the Interpretive Centre and a talk about the wildlife and habitat found in the area. The budding naturalists got to see first hand marsh birds, waterfowl, raptors, turtles and more! The highlight for most was the cleaning out of Bluebird Boxes around the trail. It was a mystery as to what was nesting there last year...and the potential surprise of a mouse inside! (none were found)

Bluebird House Clean Up

The FUN day ended with refreshments (hot chocolate and Tim Bits) back in the Interpretive Centre. Many of the participants voiced a desire to come back to the Area again soon.

We wish to thank all that came out to share the day and the marsh with us. We hope to see you all again soon!
